Further proof that the Bible is a waste of paper and bookbinding glue: Exodus 15:3 anyone?
Exodus 15:3 calls "God" a "man of war" and a "warrior."
How can one be a warrior, if there are no enemies that would pose a challenge
to you? And what kind of warrior brags about his victories over totally impotent
opponents?
Think about it. When I was a kid, I torched an ant nest with gasoline once.
Presumably "God" is at least as powerful in relation to humanity, as we
are with ants (if the Bible is true that is.)
Now… if I walked into my local VFW and claimed to be "a WARRIOR" because I
did this, I’d get laughed out of the place (and maybe thrown out on my ear to boot.)
"God" has never faced an enemy that could hurt "Him"; Nimrod and his tower was a joke; even "Satan" was/is nothing compared to "Him". All of "His" victories - from nuking Sodom to tormenting Job to what "He" will supposedly do to the modern world on "Judgement Day" - followed
by BRAGGING about "His Holy Righteous Might" in most cases - are more the acts of a bully than anything else; one is left to think of what the Biblical god would do if faced with someone who was as big as, or bigger than "Him." (Would "God" grovel and beg for mercy? Bullies tend to
do that when they find themselves outmatched.)
The Biblical god makes me think of Mike Tyson punching out say, Richard Simmons or Don Knotts, and then calling himself a bada$$. (I wonder how "He"’d react to "His"own personal
Lennox Lewis?)
Some "warrior." *snorts*
To "a massive camel":
Since "God" is not a man, comparing him to
a certain type of human professional (warrior
or soldier) makes as much sense as comparing me (a human with big stomping feet) to a fire ant.
No, lemme tell ya, chief - here ain’t an ant alive who could whoop-a$$
on ME! Therefore I must be a mighty warrior.
There’s a torched ant nest twenty-some years ago to prove it!
(Think that one will impress the ladies on
Saturday night? Thanks for the idea..!)
To "mswnana":
Sort of like your god, I’d say.
I think I shall promote a bout between YHWH and Thor. Now, Thor is some real competition for YHWH, probably way too much of it.

You have read well, but you did not see. You have some knowledge, but, to what use.
He is The God of war, and the God of peace and love. You must read it all to understand.
It is futile to argue with you as you can not understand.

It just reflects the brutal, bloody mindset of the primitives that wrote that part of the Bible. Remember, these people had just about left human sacrifice behind them.

The fact that there is nobody to match him proves how much of a mighty warrior he is. When you become you are so powerful that nobody can defeat you it doesn’t mean you arent powerful anymore. God does not brag about himself, the writers of the Bible write proudly about him because an omnipotent omnipresent omniscient being that cares more than anything for humans deserves it. I dont really understand your question, are you saying he isnt a mighty warrior? Are you saying the people in the bible shouldnt have called him a mighty warrior? Are you just having a rant against theism because it angers you that you cant find your faith?
A massive camel | Feb 03, 2010
Since God created us, he has a right to discipline us. I doubt that torching an ant nest had anything to do with your being any type of warrior…more of a person with no feeling for anything smaller than himself.

<agrees, with respectful exceptions noted…(it’s a new day, this atheist is trying to be nice)…
You assUme God has no enemies. But, just because they aren’t listed in the Good Book doesn’t mean they’re not up there. What, you think there are no other gods? Read the Holy Word:
In Isaiah1:10, Psalms 82:1, 6, in John 10:34, in Exodus 23:13, 24 and 32, and Exodus 22:28 the Lord God Himself often makes references to ‘other gods’, ‘their other gods’, and commands the people to ‘make no idols to other gods’…Indeed I have always thought the introduction to Exodus is incorrectly punctuated, and should read , "I am the Lord, Thy God…" rather than "I am the Lord thy God…". See the difference a comma can make?
He may have more competition than you know, my poor mortal friend.

I’m a Christian and I know where you’re coming from…
But who is the Lord fighting? He promises to fight on behalf of those who trust and obey Him.
Our enemies, those who mean to do us harm, will be put to flight or destroyed by the angels of the Lord.
Mankind does have a very real and very powerful enemy. His name is Satan and he delights in the destruction of man. He doesn’t drop bombs on us, he simply gets us to fight one another, torture one another, rape one another, cheat, kill and destroy one another.
We’ll never have victory over our enemies until we first have victory over ourselves. That means accepting we’ve been deceived, admitting our own wrong-doing, humbling ourself before God admitting we can’t do anything without His help and……
having been reconciled to God, we then begin the process of reconciling ourselves to people and pursuing a new and better way of living…

To the person above. There is no proof that god created us, scientists seem to have a different view and evidence of how we came to be. If you believe in god then you have a faith and thats good, but your just as bad as the guy who asked this question, he preached that god doesn’t exist, you preached that he does. You just singled him out for saying what he believes, he isn’t as bad though as he said his statement as a whole to many people, you picked him out and said god ‘created us’. For many, god did not create us so therefor he cannot dicipline us. Maybe you should preach for a living

This is about how The Bible is totally wasted upon irreligious dunce Atheists who have no powers of comprehension:
EXODUS 15:1-20.
THEN sang Moses and the Children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying,
"I will sing unto the LORD, for He hath triumphed gloriously:
the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.
2. "The LORD is my strength and song, and He is become my Salvation:
He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
3. "The LORD is a Man of War: The LORD is His Name.
4. "Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath He cast into the sea:
his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5. "The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6. "Thy Right Hand, O LORD, is become Glorious in Power:
Thy Right Hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the Enemy.
7. "And in The Greatness of Thine Excellency
Thou hast overthrown them that rose up against Thee:
Thou sentest forth Thy Wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8. "And with the blast of Thy Nostrils the waters were gathered together,
the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9. "THE ENEMY SAID,
‘I WILL PURSUE, I WILL OVERTAKE, I WILL DIVIDE THE SPOIL;
MY LUST SHALL BE SATISFIED UPON THEM;
I WILL DRAW MY SWORD, MY HAND SHALL DESTROY THEM.’
10. "Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them:
they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11. "Who is like unto Thee, O LORD, among the gods?
Who is like Thee, Glorious in Holiness, fearful in Praises, doing Wonders?
12. "Thou stretchedst out thy Right Hand, the Earth swallowed them.
13. "Thou in Thy Mercy hast led forth the People which Thou hast redeemed:
Thou hast guided them in Thy Strength unto thy Holy Habitation.
14. "The people shall hear, and be afraid:
sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15. "Then the Dukes of Edom shall be amazed;
the Mighty Men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them;
all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16. "Fear and dread shall fall upon them;
by The Greatness of Thine Arm they shall be as still as a stone;
till Thy People pass over, O LORD, till The People pass over,
which Thou hast purchased.
(17-18 Omitted for space reasons.)
19. "For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea,
and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them;
but The Children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea."
20. And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand;
and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
I WONDER WHAT YOU do and say, when you are watching one of your silly and pointless ball sports, and your favorite player scores a "goal." Do you just say calmly, "It is a match point," like you were from Planet Vulcan or the Equilibrium republic or something, or do you jump around screaming your head off, as if something of significance that requires alerting an entire city block ensued?
The primary rule for understanding Bible statements is KNOW THE CONTEXT.
You have ignored the context in order to blaspheme God and make Him appear ridiculous.
A "bully" is someone who causes pain and injury upon those who have done nothing to them, nor deserve such treatment. How is God a "bully?"
Is there any one of you, who is a parent, that if a real bully were assaulting your son, even raping your daughter, even in front of you, would you not tell them AT THE VERY LEAST: "Do not do that!"?
What if they did not listen, but continued to mug and rape your child under your nose, would you not step in and stop them? Would you not, having secured the safety of your children- THAT IS, WHAT WAS LEFT OF THEM- inflict punishment upon those MISBEGOTTEN MISCREANT MONSTERS who scorned your entreaties for justice, and mocked your cries for mercy? You would just slap their wrists and let them go do the same to other kids on the block?
If you were the victim in these cases, and your father came and murdered those doing you harm for less than no reason- I MEAN, THEY OWE YOUR FAMILY THEIR LIVES- one of your ancestors SAVED THEIR FAMILY AND NEIGHBOURS, and THEY KNOW THIS- would you ever tell your father later. "You know dad- you overreacted back there!" Would there be ANY slightest opinion or attitude in you, that your father was a murderer for avenging you?
That is the situation that was going on with Moses and the Children of Israel, whose son Joseph saved the Egyptian Empire, and in gratitude, the Egyptians enslaved their race, and made them their construction crew- and even made THEM provide working materials.
This song was Moses’ OPINION OF GOD after God just saved them- thousands UNARMED CIVILIANS- from being massacred because Pharaoh preferred to KILL them all than let them have A ONE WEEK HOLIDAY. This was ALL Moses had asked Pharaoh for.
Pharaoh was confident that they had no Men of War to protect them. Moses said that they had the only one they needed.
Did you know all this before today?

Your portrayal of God as a "bully" is a disgrace to your educational system. Now we have seen what the context was, everyone who supported your lack of view has revealed themselves to be functionally illiterate.
The White race in general and America in particular have a history of invading lands that were never theirs, and massacring people who are under-armed, even totally unarmed. In my country, the tradition is to disfigure the faces of our children with hot blades, which made our ancestors undesirable to the White slavers. At this point in time, Americans often do not even engage their enemies in a fair fight any more, but send robot toy airplanes with insufficiently resolving cameras, and say, "Oh look- there’s a 99% chance those innocent unarmed civilians are standing next to an alleged terrorist whose guilt has never been proven in a Court of Law, before a jury of his Peers- LET’S KILL THEM ALL!" Later on, the public gets multiple videos from the man they said they committed multiple murder to kill, and the government says that there is no real proof that it is him on the videos.
MATTHEW 23:27-33.
27. "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
for ye are like unto whited sepulchres,
which indeed appear beautiful outward,
but are within full of dead men’s bones,
and of all uncleanness.
28. "Even so ye also outwardly appear Righteous unto men,
but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29. "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
because ye build the tombs of the Prophets,
and garnish the sepulchres of the Righteous,
30. "And say,
‘If we had been in the days of our fathers,
we would not have been partakers with them
in the blood of the Prophets.’
31. "Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves,
that ye are the Children of them which killed the Prophets.
32. "Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33. "Ye Serpents, ye Generation of Vipers,
how can ye escape The Damnation of Hell?"
WHEN YOU COME from a nation of craven cowards, how can you understand Divine Justice?
How many times has your Ministry of Agriculture or whatever, massacred actual ants that were diseased and threats to other ants and food crops? What do you do to- I’m thinking of a species- Fire Ants, whose bites are extremely painful and can even be fatal to a minority of unlucky people- when they decide to nest in your backyard where your children take fresh air?
I’ve lived in Africa for forty years, and I have never once seen children stomping ants for fun, or pulling the wings off of flies, as White children do. It is disgusting that your should try to project your sick worldview onto Holy YAHWEH God, Who was only defending defenseless and harmless civilians, who were only exercising their right to quit unjust employment.
(The Red Sea Massacre was the settlement of the what was easily the greatest Labour Union dispute in history.)
